FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Short answers about how 95 MotorWorks works. If yours is not here, call us.

General

Do you come to me?

Our primary service is mobile. We come to your vehicle when the job and the location allow it.

What is the private service facility?

A private facility for advanced or longer-term repairs. It is available by appointment only, it does not take walk-ins, and its address is not published.

Does the request form book an appointment?

Submitting a request asks us to contact you about service. It does not confirm an appointment or dispatch.

What areas do you serve?

Our home market is St. Pauls, NC. We also take requests from Fayetteville, Hope Mills, and Lumberton, and we help I-95 travelers where we safely can. Contact us to confirm service coverage and availability.

What hours can I call?

8 a.m.–7 p.m. daily (Eastern time). These are the hours we accept calls. They are not a guarantee of dispatch or appointment availability.

Do you speak Spanish?

Yes. English & Spanish assistance is available.

Do you tow?

No. We do not offer towing.

What do you not do?

We do not offer towing, refrigerant or A/C service, state inspections, or engine swaps, and we do not specialize in heavy-duty or diesel work.

How much will it cost?

It depends on the vehicle and the repair. We assess first and talk through the recommended work before repairs proceed.

Diagnostics / will not start

Can you tell me what is wrong over the phone?

Not reliably. We can discuss symptoms and suggest what to check, but a firm diagnosis requires looking at the vehicle.

What if the fix needs more than a mobile visit?

We will explain why and discuss whether the private service facility, available by appointment only, is the better option.

Is it safe to keep driving with a warning light on?

It depends on the light and how the vehicle is behaving. If the vehicle is overheating, losing power, or the brakes feel wrong, do not keep driving. Call us and we can talk through it.

Brake repairs

My brakes feel wrong. Should I keep driving?

If the pedal goes to the floor, the vehicle does not stop normally, or the brake light is on along with changes in feel, do not drive it. Call us so we can talk through the safest next step.

Can all brake work be done at my home?

No. It depends on the vehicle, the parts, and whether the location is safe and level. We will tell you if the work should be done at the appointment-only facility.

Battery, starter & alternator

Do I just need a new battery?

Maybe, but not always. A weak charging system can kill a good battery, so we test before replacing parts.

Can you replace a starter or alternator at my location?

Often, depending on the vehicle and how accessible the part is. Some require more time or equipment and are better done at the appointment-only facility.

Maintenance & tune-ups

Can you change my oil at my home or workplace?

In many cases, yes. We will confirm location suitability when you contact us, including whether the property allows the work.

Do you do state inspections?

No. State inspections are not part of our services.

Cooling-system repair

Can I keep driving a car that is overheating?

No. Continuing to drive an overheating vehicle can cause serious engine damage. Pull over safely, shut it off, and call us.

Do you service A/C or refrigerant systems?

No. Our cooling-system work covers engine cooling: radiators, coolant, hoses, and related components. We do not offer refrigerant or A/C service.

Suspension & wheel bearings

Can a wheel bearing be replaced at my location?

Sometimes, depending on the vehicle. Many wheel-bearing jobs need equipment best suited to the facility. We will tell you after assessing the vehicle.

Do you do alignments?

Alignment is not part of our listed services. We can recommend when one should follow suspension work.

Pre-purchase inspections

Can you guarantee the vehicle will not have problems?

No. An inspection describes condition at the time we look. It cannot predict future failures.

Will you inspect a vehicle at a dealership?

Possibly, if the seller allows it and the location is workable. Contact us with the details and we can talk through it.

Vehicle trouble? Call first.

Tell us what is happening and where the vehicle is. We will talk through whether a mobile visit or the appointment-only facility makes sense.

Calls accepted 8 a.m.–7 p.m. daily (Eastern time). English & Spanish assistance available.
