Brake Repair

Your brakes are not something to put off. Noise, vibration, or a change in pedal feel are all reasons to have them looked at.

Overview

Your brakes are not something to put off. Noise, vibration, or a change in pedal feel are all reasons to have them looked at.

We assess the brake system first, then explain what needs attention. Many brake jobs can be handled at your location. Others depend on the vehicle, the condition of the parts, and a safe, level place to work, and some are better handled at the private service facility by appointment.

Common symptoms

These are signs worth getting checked. They are not a diagnosis, and the same symptom can have different causes.

  • Squealing, grinding, or scraping when you brake
  • A soft, low, or spongy brake pedal
  • The vehicle pulls to one side when stopping
  • Vibration or pulsing through the pedal or steering wheel
  • A brake warning light on the dash
  • Longer stopping distances than you are used to

What assessment and repair may involve

  • Inspection of pads, rotors, calipers, hoses, and brake fluid condition as applicable
  • An explanation of what is worn and what is still serviceable
  • Replacement of brake components after assessment
  • Checking the work and talking through what to watch for afterward

Mobile visit or private facility?

Whether the work can be done at your location depends on the vehicle, the parts involved, the equipment needed, and whether the spot is level, safe, and permitted. Some work needs our private service facility, which is available by appointment only.

Often suited to mobile service

  • Many pad and rotor replacements on a level, safe surface
  • Brake inspections and noise diagnosis
  • Straightforward component replacement

May need the facility

  • Seized or damaged components that need more time or equipment
  • Hydraulic problems or work that needs the vehicle held for a period
  • Jobs where the location is not level, stable, or safe to work under a vehicle

About the private service facility

What to have ready

  • Year, make, model, and which wheels are affected if you know
  • What you hear, feel, or see, and when it happens
  • Whether the brake warning light is on
  • A level, safe spot where the vehicle can sit while we work

How requesting service works

  1. Call us or send a request. Share the vehicle, the symptoms, and where it is.
  2. We follow up. We confirm coverage, ask follow-up questions, and discuss whether a mobile visit or the facility fits.
  3. You decide. Service is scheduled only after we agree on a plan with you.

Submitting a request asks us to contact you about service. It does not confirm an appointment or dispatch. Contact us to confirm service coverage and availability.

Frequently asked questions

My brakes feel wrong. Should I keep driving?

If the pedal goes to the floor, the vehicle does not stop normally, or the brake light is on along with changes in feel, do not drive it. Call us so we can talk through the safest next step.

Can all brake work be done at my home?

No. It depends on the vehicle, the parts, and whether the location is safe and level. We will tell you if the work should be done at the appointment-only facility.

Vehicle trouble? Call first.

Tell us what is happening and where the vehicle is. We will talk through whether a mobile visit or the appointment-only facility makes sense.

Calls accepted 8 a.m.–7 p.m. daily (Eastern time). English & Spanish assistance available.
